Six people found guilty of murdering man at Birmingham park

Six people have been found guilty of murdering Michael Obasi in Perry Hall Park in Perry Barr, Birmingham, in March of last year. Video: West Midlands Police

00:00On the 16th of March 2024, around about 11 o'clock in the morning, a dog walker found

00:10the lifeless body of Michael in the park and at that point West Midlands Police launched

00:15a murder investigation.

00:29As a result of that investigation, six males were traced to addresses in Aston and arrested.

00:56During the investigation we established that some of the males involved in the assault

00:59on Michael were also responsible for the attempted robbery at Walsall train station.

01:04Officers working with our colleagues at British Transport Police carried on some enquiries

01:09where we identified some CCTV which has been absolutely critical in the convictions today.

01:15Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Michael.

01:19His murder has left a massive hole in the family, he's left a son behind and family

01:25that miss him dearly.
