00:25Remember she praised Prime Minister Modi and it's over this that the Kerala Congress mocked
00:28her saying that Preeti has given her ex-account to the BJP.
00:32Preeti Zinta now responding has said that I handle my own account and has lashed out
00:37to the Kerala Congress saying shame on you for spreading fake news.
00:44Now the Kerala Congress in it's tweet while claiming that Preeti Zinta gave full access
00:48of her ex-account to the BJP claimed that Preeti Zinta actually got 18 crores loan written
00:54off and now Preeti Zinta has responded to that too.
00:57On social media she says that this was a loan that I paid off 10 years ago and that's
01:03why she's accused the Congress of spreading fake news.
01:06This entire controversy triggered by a post where the actor had praised Prime Minister
01:11Modi.
01:12The Congress seeing red over this, the Kerala Congress went ahead and claimed that Preeti
01:16Zinta has handed over her ex-account to the BJP and because she got a loan written off
01:21worth 18 crores, Preeti Zinta said I handle my own ex-account, I paid off this loan 10
01:26years ago and has called out the Congress fact checking them saying stop spreading
01:30fake news.
01:48So war of words playing out right now on social media between the Kerala Congress and actor
01:53Preeti Zinta as Preeti Zinta's praise for Prime Minister Modi has the Kerala Congress
01:59seeing red and making all sorts of allegations against her which the actor has now promptly
02:03responded to saying very clearly that it's all fake and has fact checked the Kerala Congress.
02:09Pooja Shali is joining us with more details on this Pooja, a war of words back and forth
02:16between Preeti Zinta and the Kerala Congress, just give us details really of how Preeti
02:20has responded to all of these allegations that the Congress has put out.
02:23That's right, what has happened is and she's taken on very clearly on Congress Kerala unit
02:30that put out a statement saying she gave her social media accounts to the BJP, got 18 crore
02:36rupees written off and the ban collapsed last week, she immediately pointed I think barely
02:41few minutes, few hours from that and she said all of this was cleared, nobody has helped
02:48me and she then targets the political party saying, why are you spreading fake news?
02:53Now this comes as many are stating that she had put out a statement on social media to
02:59basically say that if I am praising the Prime Minister, appreciating the Prime Minister,
03:05I'm called a bhakt and if I'm a proud Hindu or an Indian, then I'm targeted as an andh
03:11bhakt.
03:12So many are stating that just because she put out a statement possibly praising the
03:15Prime Minister is now the Congress Kerala unit also attacking her to which she said
03:21that the whole point of anyone trying to clear my loans is all fabricated gossip.
03:26It was all paid back referring to a certain loan of 18 crore rupees she had possibly taken
03:31for a venture.
03:32Preeti's in the past few days has definitely become more vocal, more clear in what she
03:37believes, what she's projecting and many have started to target her in case she's been praising
03:43the Prime Minister.
03:44So that's what has happened, Akshita and it does seem very odd that a political party's
03:49unit and a Kerala unit of all would be targeting a Hindi film actress, which she herself is
03:55denying as malicious gossip that is being spread against her, Akshita.
04:00Pooja, you've got the Kerala Congress of course targeting Preeti Sinha with all sorts of claims
04:04as you've highlighted.
04:05What exactly is it that Preeti Sinha said about the Prime Minister that's got, you know,
04:09the Congress riled up on social media?
04:12In fact, it's very interesting.
04:13She hadn't mentioned anyone, Akshita.
04:17She had just put out a very lighthearted statement saying that anything said these days on the
04:22social media is treated like a hit job.
04:25And even if she says or happens to say that, and I'll just quickly read out, she said,
04:30why is everybody becoming so cynical?
04:32She's in fact asking everybody to take a lighter note and said that if I say something, it's
04:39called an AI vote, I'm then attacked.
04:41If I appreciate the Prime Minister, I'm called a bhakt.
04:45If I say I'm a proud Hindu or an Indian, I'm called an andh bhakt.
04:49And that why are people constantly charging at each other, let's take a chill pill and
04:53happily communicate with each other.
04:56And then she even mentioned why she possibly chose her marital partner.
05:00It was a very lighthearted note.
05:02Now, Congress Kerala unit hasn't responded to that statement.
05:06They specifically shared another post and then alleged, this was serious, Akshita, Congress
05:11Kerala unit alleging that Preeti Zinta has given off her social media account to the
05:17BJP and that's how got 18 crore rupees written off.
05:21The bank collapsed.
05:22They are making a very serious charge that depositors are on the street because Preeti
05:27Zinta got a loan cleared, to which she responded, said, but this loan was cleared 10 years ago.
05:33It was all paid back by me.
05:35And please do not spread misunderstandings.
05:37Remember what the Congress Kerala unit said, Akshita, was a serious charge.
05:41It could have led to anger among the depositors as well, who had been investing their money
05:46to the bank.
05:47And that is possibly the reason that she herself came on the social media and many are targeting
05:54her if she's looking for roles to which she clearly, remember, is not in the niche.
05:58She's been a successful entrepreneur.
06:01She's been investing in sports.
06:03And therefore, this is something that has happened online right now, Akshita.
