00:00With figure skating, we learn so much about resilience.
00:08You have a dream and you set goals, but every day is not always going to be easy, but for
00:19us being able to be a team and work together towards the same thing, we've learned how
00:20to overcome some very challenging times.
00:21It's taken many, many years for us to reach the level and the confidence that we have
00:23now.
00:24And so I don't want to gloss over the fact that it took so much hard work and we had
00:28many ups and downs, but it is those experiences, those challenges, where when you rely on your
00:34teammate or your partner, your friends and your coaches, we're able to overcome and we've
00:40learned so many valuable lessons along the way.
00:42Resilience is one of them, but really having gratitude and being grateful for the opportunity
00:46that we have to skate.
00:47And so even though you wake up early in the morning and your body is sore and you're tired,
00:52you're excited to try new things.
00:54And that's another thing actually that I want to mention about figure skating and ice dance
00:57in particular.
00:58There's always something new to learn.
00:59You're never done learning and that's very similar to life, but it's a very creative
01:03sport.
01:04And so for people who are interested in creativity and storytelling and expressing yourself through
01:10movement and performing for an audience, I think it's really a perfect fit.
