00:08was held at PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
00:11That's our teammate, Daryl Oclares.
00:17Amateur and professional DanceSport athletes from the Philippines and other Asian countries
00:24participated in the three-day Philippine Superstars and DanceSport Asia Open Championship 2025
00:31at PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
00:34From the juvenile, junior, youth, and adult category,
00:38the contestants competed in solo and pair events of standard and Latin dances.
00:44The longtime national team DanceSport couple, Sean Mishka Aranar and Anan Wala Aranar,
00:52although they are just starting this year,
00:55were immediately named champions for the Open Asian Adult Standard and Standard Grade A.
01:01At the PTV Sports event at Multi-Sea Games Gold Medals,
01:05Sean and Ana were confident that they showed a good performance in the competition.
01:12Actually, it was a nice experience because we knew that we were prepared going to this day.
01:18We were prepared since the first competition.
01:22Of course, it was tiring, but we are happy with our performance.
01:28This is our first competition of the year.
01:30We were challenged because there are five rounds.
01:33So, we competed in two rounds in the national ranking,
01:37and three rounds in the Asia Open.
01:39So, we really need to try hard to make it to the finals.
01:44Sean and Ana also discussed what was the key to continue winning the title of DanceSport.
01:51I guess, it's experience.
01:54Because we've been dancing for almost a decade.
01:57I think it's been 11 years.
01:59So, our connection is very established.
02:02We dance, we are happy, we are sad, we are angry.
02:06Everything is there.
02:08So, it's just like that.
02:11We really focus on the technical quality.
02:13And then, when our body gets tired, that's when we focus on the performance part.
02:19For us, the base training is very important.
02:22Technical quality.
02:24Meanwhile, this prestigious competition became a success
02:28because of the help of the World DanceSport Federation,
02:32DanceSport Asia, Philippine Olympic Committee,
02:35Philippine Sports Commission,
02:37and the Philippine DanceSport Federation under the leadership of President Rebecca Becky Garcia.
02:43To all our DanceSport athletes, keep on dancing.
02:47Just share all the passion for dancing.
02:53In the continuous rise of DanceSport in the world of sports,
02:57their call for the time to include DanceSport in the Olympics does not stop.
