00:00How did you feel about how things have gone from the start of the month to the last two games?

00:06Yeah, I think you hit the nail on the head that it's the nature of the league.

00:12I mean, you're sitting here looking at potentially 13 teams or really 13 teams that are in the mix for the NCAA tournament,

00:18which is unheard of. Are all going to get in? Probably not.

00:22But it's an indicator of how good the league actually is.

00:27But it doesn't matter to you when you're the one trying to win and you're tied for first in the league.

00:35You're basically co-number one because one poll's got you number one.

00:39The other one had Auburn. And look, they proved they're the best team in the country right now, without question.

00:44But you're right there. One week ago, and we're all pumped and excited in Tuscaloosa State because we've got the biggest game.

00:51Not the biggest matchup because we played with games that have been on the line.

00:56For an Alabama-Auburn matchup to have one versus two, it's never happened.

01:01It's the only time it's happened in the history of the SEC that you've had one versus two.

01:05So it was huge. There was a lot on the line, and you didn't get it done.

01:09And I think that's the disappointing thing.

01:11All the respect in the world for both Auburn and for Missouri, especially where you played,

01:17but it's the fact that you didn't play your best or anywhere close to it.

01:21People talk about Alabama being a three-point shooting team, and they do it as well as anybody in the country.

01:25But that's not all of who they are. They didn't lose to Auburn because they couldn't make threes.

01:33They lost to Auburn because they couldn't make threes, they missed way too many layups,

01:38and they didn't defend at the level they need to.

01:41At all. They literally let them shoot, I think, almost 50% from the floor, when no one does that against Alabama.

01:52I think it was like 47% or something.

01:55But they literally had never allowed that in Tuscaloosa to anybody to see that team.

02:02And we know how legit they are.

02:04Broom and company, they had five other guys in double figures in that game.

02:07I watched the game. I was sitting there going, oh, my God.

02:11They're almost shooting 50% from the floor.

02:14It's unheard of against an Alabama defense.

02:18No. And they came out, they're up 9-0 to start the game.

02:24They win by nine.

02:26Alabama turns around, Nate switches the lineup just a little bit.

02:29And it wasn't because he said of the – what do you think?

02:34Jerry Stevenson was out of the lineup, first time in a long time that he hasn't started.

02:38And he was coming off of one of his best games of the year against Auburn, statistically.

02:44I was in the meeting.

02:45He said, I'm not taking you out of the starting lineup because of anything you've done wrong.

02:49I'm trying to get our rotation set better.

02:52And that very night, that game against Missouri, you fall behind 12-0.

03:01And then I think you lose by a dozen.

03:03So starts matter.

03:05It's not all about that.

03:06But your starts absolutely can matter in terms of the outcome they have for Alabama.

03:11They've got to be better out of the gate.

03:13You're right.

03:14There's no shame in losing the two games that you've lost.

03:17But the reality is, you've got Kentucky Saturday.

03:20You've got Mississippi State, who's the top 15, top 20 team next week.

03:25You've got Tennessee on the road after that.

03:28Then you go Florida-Auburn to finish the year.

03:31So you tell me where the get-well game is.

03:35There's not one.
