Has the 20mph change helped tackle speeding?

With speeding on the rise across the rest of the UK, we’re asking people in Cardiff whether they think the Welsh Government’s controversial 20mph limit change has helped tackle speeding.

00:07adjacent to some more residential areas but there's not direct sort of

00:12pedestrian access. Also I think the roads need to be marked clearly if that's the case.

00:17I know that it saves lives if you get hit at 20 instead of 30 but

00:22pragmatically are people really, if you're going to break a 30 mile

00:27an hour speed limit you're going to break a 20 mile an hour speed limit and that's

00:31just the way people go.

00:32No, 20 miles an hour is alright.

00:34Yeah, saves lives. No need to go any faster.

00:39Yeah definitely because if I'm going 30 and it immediately drops to 20 and then back up to 30

00:44not everyone's going to see that and you're constantly looking out for signage

00:47as opposed to concentrating on the road and what's in front of you. You're

00:49worrying about what speed you're going. You actually want to just look at the road and see

00:53what's in front of you, especially run by schools. If someone's kid's going to nip out, you want to

00:56make sure, you know, I'm not staring at signs, make sure I'm going the right speed.
