00:00Along with the increase in dengue cases, PhilHealth reminded us that there are benefits for this.

00:06If the state insurer grows, the higher package rate will be effective last year.

00:12Ephraim Gaitos of Radyo Pilipinas has news for the country.

00:18Before the increase in dengue cases, PhilHealth has already increased the benefit package for those who receive it.

00:25In a statement of Radyo Pilipinas, PhilHealth spokesperson Dr. Israel Pargas said

00:30that dengue is included in the top 10 mortality and morbidity cases.

00:35So that is one of the biggest and most claimed and paid by PhilHealth.

00:42It is also included in the top 10 burden of diseases of the Philippines.

00:46That's why we increased and improved our benefit.

00:51In fact, last November, the 50% increase for severe dengue cases was effective.

00:57It means that the previous P16,000 became P47,000.

01:03For dengue fever or mild dengue, the benefit was increased to P19,500 from the previous P10,000.

01:12What about those who have dengue that does not need to be confined and brought to the emergency room?

01:18PhilHealth's answer is

01:19There are dengue patients who were brought to the ER but were not admitted.

01:24They already have benefits that they can get.

01:27But the State Insurer clarified that it depends on the service received by the patient

01:33that will be the benefit under the Outpatient Emergency Care Benefit Package.

01:38The new package rate for dengue is included in the expanded programs and services of PhilHealth

01:45as per the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.
