00:00So we're at Fratton Bridge Centre, which is something the council's purchased about a year and a half ago.

00:05We're here to do some planting, so we've got some lovely planters outside.

00:10It means that we get to improve the air quality, but improve the character of the area as well.

00:16Just make it nicer to come to and encourage people to come here as well.

00:20It's a real hub for the area as well. We're trying to improve Fratton and the area and the high street itself.

00:26With the purchase of the bridge centre and obviously filling it up now with some really great occupants

00:31who will bring amazing things to the area by also improving how it looks as well,

00:37with the green planters outside and the benches as well for people to be able to sit and enjoy them as well

00:43or take a break when they're on their way to or from shopping.

00:46It's just one of those things that I think is really important.

00:49And to be able to bring people back into the area as well and use it is always a good thing.

00:54And you've been getting your hands dirty as well today.

00:56Oh definitely, yeah, it's the best way to do it.

00:59How good is it to see the community come out and put in effort as well?

01:02It's fantastic to see so many different community groups coming together to plant these planters

01:08but also be involved in the project that we're doing here with the Future High Streets bid.

01:13To see everyone come together to do that I think is an amazing thing and members of the community as well.

01:18I've spoken to quite a few people today who have come out and asked what we're doing and it's all been positive.

01:23Yeah, perfect. Obviously that's one step.

01:26What are the future plans? What's next in the pipeline?

01:29So it should all be full and we're always looking for future investment into this area to continue to improve it.

01:38Same for other areas in the city as well but obviously with this being the focus at the moment

01:43making sure that our tenants are happy and having all these things available

01:47like the food pantry and the baby bank and everything like that

01:52it's a real place where people can come together as a community, do their shopping

01:56and be able to access other services and advice as well.

01:59So future investment, that's what we want to continue on with.
