00:10However, he said Sarawak's interests would take precedence throughout the
00:13collaboration between the gas companies.
00:16In a statement today, Abang Johari said existing contracts entered into by Petronas
00:21and its subsidiaries would remain unaffected, allowing Petronas to fulfill its domestic and
00:26international contractual obligations.
00:29He also stressed that the performance of such existing contracts must not in any way
00:34adversely affect Petronas as Sarawak's sole gas aggregator.
00:39Abang Johari said other key agreements with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim included
00:43mutual respect for federal and state laws such as the Petroleum Development Act 1974
00:49and the Distribution of Gas Ordinance 2016.
00:52He also said both parties have agreed to ensure offshore exploration
00:57meets the gas volume guarantee outlined in the Sarawak Gas Roadmap.
01:01Yesterday, Anwar told the Dewan Rakyat that the federal and Sarawak governments
01:05had agreed to Petronas and its subsidiaries retaining all their existing domestic and
01:10international contractual obligations.
