00:00The Preview Beauty Awards is an annual curated beauty list featuring the best of the products
00:12and services that we've tried for the year.
00:14The winners, we actually really do use them ourselves.
00:19In fact, some of the products that we've shot came from our own beauty shelves.
00:26So the selection process was really a team effort.
00:28The whole production was a team effort.
00:30So everything from the nominations, to the selection of the shortlist, up to the testing
00:36and the final reviews.
00:38We wanted to make our selections as diverse as possible.
00:41So we had picks that range from accessible and affordable to mid-range and luxury.
00:46Because in the end, that's what beauty is about.
00:48It's for everyone and everyone has different needs.
00:51So we wanted our winners to be as accessible as possible for everybody.
00:56The creative direction for this year's beauty awards, we wanted to make it very minimal
01:00and very straightforward, really focusing on the products.
01:04We wanted a lot of skin, kind of related to the theme of this year's ball.
01:08We wanted to highlight how one's beauty is already innate.
01:12The products and the procedures we featured were meant to highlight one's skin.
01:16So our skin is like a canvas and all the products and the procedures that we apply to it are
01:21like paintbrushes that are meant not to transform it entirely, but to bring out the best.
01:26Of the skin that they're already in.
01:28So the products that we chose this year are really products that we use almost every day.
01:33Like for me personally, I use the Pond's Age Miracle Youth Serum and my recent favorite
01:38scent, the Jo Malone Hinoki and Cedarwood.
01:43So two of my favorites from the Preview Beauty Awards this year is the Pure Culture Sunscreen
01:49and the Dermatropics Conditioner.
01:51So I've been really into all natural and clean beauty lately and Pure Culture and Dermatropics
01:56both check that list.
01:58The Pure Culture sunscreen particularly, I love it because it doesn't leave a white cast
02:02and it's very safe for sensitive skin.
02:05Unlike other sunscreens, it doesn't leave that stinging sensation when you start to
02:09sweat in the eyes.
02:10So that's a good thing.
02:12And then it also leaves a slight glowing sheen to your skin, which is perfect when you're
02:15out in the day so you're glowing.
02:18And then for the Dermatropics, I'm a curly haired girl so it's really hard for me to
02:22keep my hair in shape.
02:24But this helps me keep my curls and it's not heavy so it doesn't weigh it down.
02:31My personal favorites include the Bobbi Brown Primer, there's the Barren Bliss Blush, the
02:37Innisfree Serum.
02:39For fragrances, I usually gravitate towards skin scents like the Chanel Comette and Frederique
02:45Malle's L'Univer, which literally translates to winter water.
02:50It's a very fresh, clean scent that's perfect for everyday wear.
