00:20The 35th Civil Registration Month is officially opened by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Mimaropa.

00:27This month celebrates the building of a resilient, agile, and future-fit civil registration and vital statistics system.

00:35This celebration is held every February in accordance with Proclamation No. 682 passed in 1991.

00:44Its purpose is to let the public know the importance of civil registration

00:49which serves as the foundation of the recognition of every citizen in the country.

00:54According to PSA Mimaropa Regional Director Lenny Rioflorido,

00:58this event is important to strengthen the public's awareness

01:03about their right and duty to register the important events in their lives

01:09such as childbirth, marriage, and death.

01:13The importance of celebrating Civil Registration Month,

01:17as I said earlier in my opening message,

01:21is to let the Filipinos know the importance of civil registration

01:28that they should register their childbirth, marriage, and death to their families.

01:36Therefore, proper civil registration is crucial for the proper implementation of government programs and services.

01:43And from this dataslate, the government will be able to implement programs and projects

01:48that are in line with the needs of the people.
