00:00There will be an increase in electricity bills this month of February.

00:03This is what Manila Electric Company, or Meralko, announced today.

00:07For the consumption of an ordinary family, the overall rate is 12.0262 pesos per kilowatt hour.

00:13If you consume 200 kilowatt hours per month, this is equivalent to 57 pesos.

00:19The bill will be added to the overall bill.

00:21According to the Meralko Power Distributor, due to the increase in dollars,

00:25and the decrease in the value of the peso,

00:28the generation charge will increase due to high consumption and other reasons.

00:33More than 50% of consumers pay the generation charge every month.

00:38That is why the increase is very noticeable.
