00:00UMNO Youth Chief Dr. Akmal Saleh has called for legal action against the hawker who sparked

00:06controversy with his racially insensitive signboard despite the man's apology.

00:12In a Facebook post, Akmal said that legal action must be taken on those who insult another

00:17race to serve as a lesson to others and not get away by just offering an apology.

00:23The Merlimah Assemblyman said, if this culture of saying or doing something offensive and

00:28then apologising continues, it would make it even easier for such individuals to evade

00:33accountability.

00:35Last night, National Unity Minister Aaron Agoh Dagang said the hawker had apologised

00:41to all Malaysians, particularly the Indian community, for his actions and pledged not

00:45to commit such actions in the future.

00:49He said that the apology was made at a restaurant in Sepang Selangor in the presence of representatives

00:54from the Indian community, influencers, local residents, officials from the National Unity

00:59and Integration Department and police.
