Hearts 1-3 Rangers LIVE reaction: Clement's men ride the maroon wave to clinch key victory

00:00Full time here at Tyne Castle, Harts won Rangers 3 in a scoreline that doesn't really tell

00:06the full picture of this game. Harts in particular very strong in the first half, albeit it was

00:10Rangers that went ahead. A ball into the box, Craig Gordon pammed it straight onto Jamie

00:15McCart and in the net it went. It was against the run of play. Harts had a number of chances,

00:20Elton Kabangu with the most of them, Lawrence Shanklin making Jack Butlern work who had

00:23a really impressive game in the goals with 4 Rangers. After half time, Harts got the

00:28goal they deserved, Michael Steinbender pushing former Jumbo John Suter out the way. That

00:32made it 1 each. Harts were in the ascendancy at that point but they didn't quite carve

00:36out the same chances in the second half as they did in the first half, albeit Rangers

00:40still not very convincing. Harts had a penalty claim just on the hour mark. It looked like

00:46James Wilson from where we were sitting seemingly had two hands on his back from Clinton and

00:50Siala. Whether it was a penalty or not we're still to see replays but Rangers broke up

00:53the part for that, took advantage and Vaclav Černý finished off quite well and he had

00:57a big part in the game as well, playing a role in the first goal and scoring that goal

01:02there. And then Rangers finished it off, a big long ball up the park, the City of Odessa

01:07was 1 on 1 with Jamie McCartt. The Harts defender got the touch to it but all he could do was

01:10lob his goalkeeper again for a second own goal of the game. There's a stat going about

01:15online that with that he is now the joint second top goalscorer for Rangers away domestically

01:20this season which goes up to show the struggles Rangers have had on the road but they have

01:25managed to get a win here against a Harts side who I wonder what could have been if

01:28they'd have managed to take in a few first half chances. They certainly had them and

01:32could have been ahead in the game, never mind level at the break. Even though they were

01:37down they could have been level, they could have been up. So an interesting game here,

01:40Rangers will be very glad to get a victory and by any means necessary after the week

01:43they've had a following elimination of the Scottish Cup. For Harts it's a disappointment

01:47but they'll move on to the next one in the very tightly congested race for the top six

01:50in European football.
