Malaysians urged to be mindful of words and actions

Malaysians must exercise caution in their words and actions to avoid offending others in this multiracial country, says Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar.  Speaking after attending the Jalinan Muhibah Madani programme during the Chinese New Year celebration on Sunday (Feb 16), the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) emphasised the importance of mutual respect and sensitivity, especially concerning racial issues.  His remarks came in response to a viral video showing a roadside stall in Kota Warisan, Sepang, displaying a racially offensive sign. 00:23And the sensitivity of the people is a sensitive thing.

00:28So the people have to be careful.

00:31And we don't want our words and actions to cause anger to other people.

00:39So respect is very much needed.
