Residents up in arms after shocking land clearance in Tividale, Oldbury near West Bromwich

Residents unhappy about  green land  clearance next to their homes near Sheepwash Nature Reserve in Tividale, Oldbury near #West Bromwich, Sandwell.

00:00I'm Leslie Hawley and this is Hunter. I'm Ian Carroll and I'm from the Friends of Sheep

00:16Hush Local Nature Reserve. As you can see this was once an urban forest that was planted

00:24using public money. In the last month it's been completely destroyed as though a bomb

00:30has hit it. We're campaigning to try and extend Sheep Hush into this area as part of the Nature

00:39Reserve area. The landowners have a different proposal to build 550 houses across the site.

00:46Many residents on this estate are opposing this in the Sandor Local Plan. They don't

00:51want extra housing on here at all. They want to keep it green and those are within our

00:57proposals as well. There are rare butterflies on this site and we think it should be protected

01:03and preserved for future generations, not the avarice of landowners.
