00:00Technology is improving people's lives and making our daily work even easier.

00:05But in Dubai, nobody imagined that technology would improve the practice of justice

00:10by helping everyone in getting easy access to justice through innovative and smart ways

00:17like the digital justice bench and day trials.

00:21We are at the Dubai Courts headquarters to see the modern scale of justice.

00:26Dubai Courts, or Dubai Commercial Courts, is representing United Arab Emirates

00:31in the World Bank Doing Business Report, which is published every year.

00:37United Arab Emirates used to be ranked 121 in 2014 and before.

00:45During the last years, Dubai Courts, representing United Arab Emirates,

00:50jumped, a huge jump, in the ranking, international ranking.

00:56So now, the United Arab Emirates is ranked 9th globally

01:01and number 1 in the Arabic region and MENA.

01:07Of course, Dubai Courts, since a long time,

01:12all the paperwork to be as a digital file or digital registration,

01:20digital notification, e-notification.

01:23And also, one of the main areas or elements within the report is judgment publication.

01:32In Dubai Courts, for 3 years, we started to publish the judgments

01:39by our website, Dubai Courts website, which is available for public.

01:45And include all kinds of cases, commercial, labor, civil, and real estate cases.

01:55Before Corona time, in 2019, during JITECS,

01:59Since I am the chief not too long, e-trials in commercial court and civil court.

02:07Also, based on that, the infrastructure helped us to transfer all kinds of cases during Corona.

02:15All the cases, civil, commercial, labor, real estate,

02:22all transferred to be seen or to be heard remotely.

02:29As you know, this is the chamber, JITECS.

02:33So, this is the bench here, where the judge sits and the secretary,

02:37using the laptop here to have the court system.

02:47And we have here the mics and the signature pad.

02:51Here, where the clients, if they prefer to attend the court, if they prefer.

02:58But if not, they can communicate with the cameras.

03:03See, that's the camera, and there is another camera.

03:06And all those here, the screens, shows all the attendees remotely.

03:13And also, here are the screens, where the judge can see the case, the full case file.

03:24It's 100% paperless. Communicate remotely via a specific application, belonging to Dubai Courts.

03:33With minimizing time and effort on people in getting judicial services and their rights,

03:38we can surely say, Dubai Court is where justice is served.
