00:00As COVID-19 has brought about rapid changes in our lifestyles, there is one particular
00:12group that continue to remain affected and vulnerable during this time, and they are
00:18our senior citizens.
00:19As a public, we can help them during this time.
00:25Let's take the time out to do weekly check-in calls with people from our community and our
00:32wider circle who may be living alone.
00:34Teach them to use technology by guiding them through the steps by which they can use technology
00:40easily, and that will increase their confidence to get connected with you digitally.
00:46Offer to buy them groceries if you have seniors living in your local community so that they
00:52feel taken care of, and they also have a helping hand.
00:58Offer to listen to seniors as they went out about how they're feeling and open up about
01:04their emotions.
01:06This is an important part for them to heal and to cope with this current situation.
01:12Encourage them to get involved in activities that make them feel good by looking after
01:18their basic hygiene, by cooking meals, and also taking up hobbies, and regularly check
01:27on them so that they feel encouraged and motivated by doing this.
01:32Give them enough information about COVID-19 so that they don't feel anxious and worried,
01:40and they're able to sail through this time smoothly.
