00:00Human Rights Group Suara Rakyat Malaysia claims that two of its leaders have been arrested
00:06by the police in relation to a probe into their allegedly illegal entry into the Home
00:11Ministry's complex earlier this week.
00:14Suaram claimed that six policemen from the Putrajaya Police Headquarters arrived at the
00:19NGO's office today to arrest its Executive Director, Sivan Doraisamy, and Coordinator,
00:24Azura Nasrun.
00:26The pair were informed by the cops this morning that they were coming to the office to serve
00:30them with a notice under Section 111 of the Criminal Procedure Code to give their statements
00:35to the police.
00:37In a statement, Suaram claimed they informed the two that they were coming to serve a 111
00:42notice but ambushed them with an arrest instead.
00:45Suaram and the family members of detainees under the Security Offences Act 2012 had shown
00:51up at the Home Ministry on Monday to submit a memorandum demanding urgent answers about
00:55the detainees' well-being.
00:58A Home Ministry official met with the families outside the Ministry's complex but only said
01:02that she would relay their concerns.
