UNSW opens its new Biomedical Sciences Centre in Wagga, with students and teachers exploring the space, tools, equipment and technology.

00:30There's some vaguely important blood vessels down at the top of the GT.

00:35They're important for a native hip, in that they supply the femoral head.

00:38But when you're going to cut out the femoral head,

00:40they lose that and you guys will all know the names of the

00:42more than one natural hemispheres of the thigh heart.

00:45We haven't actually done that yet.

00:46That's in the biceps of the outside.

00:49Yeah, on the inside you've got the pairs.

00:52So, bristles are 17.

00:53So they remember nice as well as other things.

00:55But luckily, we can give this guy a grey three hamstring spray

00:58and see some lines.

01:03So yeah, when we're nailing femurs,

01:05obviously the entry at the top over this,

01:08just split that fascia, get to the top of the femur.

01:11And you can put all sorts of big things down to stabilise fracture.

01:15A bit of plastic where there's not a bad thing.

01:17It's a bit like a sacrificial anode, right?

01:19You're putting something in that you know is going to wear a little bit,

01:21but also mean you know where it's going to catch.

01:24Does that make sense?

01:25Yeah.

01:26You know the problem's going to be on this side.

01:27Again, open up the knee, pop it out, put in a new one.
