Emirates A380 pilots prepare for first flight to Dubai

The two men who will be piloting Emirates first A380 from Hamburg to Dubai speak about task that awaits them

00:00I feel very honored and privileged that I'm part of this delivery flight and I'm thrilled

00:27and I'm thankful to the management of the Emirates airline to have given me this opportunity

00:35to bring the first airplane from Hamburg.

00:44My main object is to hope everything is going to go right, no hiccups, and that we will

00:52try our very best to make it as smooth as possible for our guests and for the media

00:59like yourself, so that's all what I'm hoping, everything to go right.

01:09Again it's the culmination of many years of working on the project and then be able to

01:17and in airline flying we always say bigger is better, so this is the biggest airliner in history

01:28so it is a privilege to fly this airplane with Emirates.

01:34That is Burj Dubai, and on the left hand side obviously you see the runways coming inside over the airport

01:46and this is the Shenzhen side road along this coast.

01:52It's the feeling of flying the biggest airliner in the world, that's the thrill.

01:59In terms of handling it's beautiful, she is just beautiful, she is very stable, very responsive engines,

02:07very smooth, very nice to fly.

02:15It is also a nice feeling to be at the cutting edge of aircraft technology

02:21and basically getting to know the airplane, working on the project

02:26and the culmination being the first few flights.
