00:00Louise and Neil are running out of time to prepare for the winter months.
00:07There are still many jobs that need completing before temperatures drop to minus 30 and it gets too cold to work outside.
00:17If we have to leave the cabin for a period of time, we can stick our valuable stuff up here like gas cans, jerry cans, which bears love to munch on.
00:27We can stick them up there and they'll be safe and they won't be able to climb up here and get to them.
00:31So if I'm a bear, I could scoot up that one, but when I come to here, I won't be able to climb up.
00:37No, you won't be able to get your claws in.
00:39What about picking up the ladder?
00:41That's true, but we might take the ladder away, but it's a good thought.
00:46After I leave in a few days' time, Louise and Neil will be completely alone for several months.
00:53Have you ever felt like you're going mad?
00:55People talk about cabin fever and I don't think we've suffered from that,
01:01but we're on a very small piece of land here really in one cabin and just the two of us.
01:07And then when we can travel, you realise how important it is just to chat to people.
01:13It doesn't really matter what you're talking about to a degree.
01:16We're catching up on news and mutual friends and that kind of thing.
01:20I might even be just talking about the condition of the river and travelling and that sort of stuff,
01:25but those connections are really, really valuable.
01:28Just enough to chat. You can chat to someone different.
01:31Yeah, exactly.
