00:00We're 360 yards away. 360 yards. We've really got to be careful when we go in here. These
00:08bears very often will get out of the tree and then they'll just run away and the hounds
00:12can't catch them. They're not in the tree because they're terrified of the hounds, they're
00:15just in the tree because the hounds are bothering them and they don't like to be bothered so
00:18they've got out of the way. So, a very different scenario to a cat. But nevertheless, still
00:24the best way to catch a bear for collaring.
00:55Well, you can see he's just chilling up in the tree here. The dogs are keeping him up there.
00:59The vet is just preparing the drugs and soon hopefully we'll get a dart in.
01:08This was the first encounter with a really big bear and what an amazing encounter. You
01:12see this guy, he's actually really relaxed. He's sitting up there in the tree. He knows
01:16he's safe from the dogs and he's just looking down at you and I have to say it took my breath away.
