00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has made himself unmistakably clear since the get-go

00:05he will not cede an inch of Philippine territory to anyone.

00:09And despite all the harassing encounters against Philippine security forces patrolling and

00:13protecting the country's sovereignty, there will be no let-up in such efforts with the

00:18Philippine Coast Guard and the AFP vowing to fulfill their mandates and the orders of

00:22their commander-in-chief.

00:24Even more, Philippine security forces will time and again join forces with like-minded

00:29nations who share common values in maritime exercises for defensive and interoperability

00:35purposes in the WPS.

00:37Thus the Philippine Coast Guard has rotated vessels in its fleet for monitoring patrols

00:42in the country's EEZ and documents incidents of illegal encroaching in Philippine waters

00:47and its EEZ.

00:48We don't have the means to evacuate.

00:53It's not good if we have an aircraft carrier with a destroyer, frigate, and submarine.

01:00We will send them there so they can push them far away.

01:06If it's a large and numerous ship, we are far from China.

01:12But our policy is that we will just continue to defend our sovereign territory and our

01:21territorial rights in the EEZ.

01:23What is the mission of the Coast Guard?

01:25What is the mission of the Navy?

01:27To protect the territorial integrity of the Philippines.

01:30So that's what they will do.

01:31This is the reason why President Bongbong Marcos last year approved the acquisition of five

01:38from Japan and 40 more vessels that will be coming from France as well.

01:43I think the silver lining of the statement is, again, to inform the Filipino people that

01:50we are committed in carrying out our patriotic duty in the West Philippine Sea.
