00:05high-level officials, cooperation in crafting a military information protection measure

00:11and an assurance to provide more defense equipment and technology.

00:15The key points of a security pact inked between the defense chiefs of both countries as summed

00:25The Philippines and Japan on Monday agreed to strengthen the cooperation on defense and

00:30security.

00:31After the bilateral meeting between Defense Secretary Gilberto Guibo Chodoro Jr. and Japan

00:36Defense Minister Gen Nakatani in Makati City earlier today, the two officials announced

00:42the enhancement of the bilateral and multilateral training and unity exchanges and the establishment

00:48of a dialogue between high-level operational action officers.

00:52Second is the discussion between defense authorities for the exchange of military information

00:57protection mechanism and people-to-people exchanges.

01:00Lastly, the cooperation on defense equipment and technology, with the confirmation that

01:05Japan's plan to send air surveillance and radar system is in progress.

01:11Secretary Teodoro then thanked Japan for their official security assistance and contribution

01:16to the country's internal peace and disaster resilience.

01:19The defense chief is also hoping for the speedy implementation of the two countries'

01:24reciprocal access agreement that paves the way for a stronger collaboration of the armed

01:29forces of the Philippines and Japan's self-defense forces.

01:32He also pushed for a wider cooperation in promoting a rules-based international order

01:37and a free and open Indo-Pacific amid attempts of China and other countries to change the

01:42narrative of the international order.

01:45And we look forward to the discussions this morning into even enhancing our partnerships
