00:00The Senate on Wednesday adjourned its session without tackling the articles of impeachment

00:04against Vice President Sara Duterte. With this, lawmakers from the upper chamber are weighing the

00:09possibility of holding a special session for the impeachment complaint against Vice President

00:14Sara Duterte. According to former Senate President Franklin Delon, President Ferdinand R. Marcus Jr.

00:20can call Congress to a special session to allow the Senate to convene as an impeachment court

00:25and tackle the impeachment complaint. He also stressed that the impeachment complaint is the

00:30sole prerogative of the President, which cannot be questioned even by the Supreme Court. However,

00:36Senate President Francis Chief Escudero insisted that due to limited time and because the impeachment

00:41complaint against the Vice President came on the last day of session, no impeachment trial will

00:46happen during the break. He also further emphasized that as the session resumes in June, they will act

00:53on it following the legal process and noting that it cannot be rushed or delayed.
