00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. extended the term of Philippine National Police Chief, Police General Rommel Francisco Marbil for four months.

00:09Effective tomorrow, on the day of his retirement.

00:13Based on a memorandum passed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin,

00:17Marbil extended his service to the government after his mandatory retirement age of 56.

00:25Remember, the Department of Interior and Local Government gave an order to extend Marbil's term

00:32to ensure the proper implementation of security and peace in the upcoming election of 2025.

00:40Marbil stands as the 30th PNP Chief, a member of the Philippine Military Academy's Sambisig Class of 1991.

00:48He obtained the highest position in the police force on April 1, 2024.

00:54Marbil demonstrated his ability to enforce the law and to stop crime.
