00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. approved the termination of Philippine National Police Chief General Rommel Francisco Marvill

00:08for four months, effective tomorrow, on the day of his retirement.

00:13According to the memorandum passed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin,

00:17Marvill's service to the government was extended beyond the mandatory age of retirement of 56.

00:26The Department of the Interior and local government first explained

00:30that Marvill's termination should be extended

00:33to ensure the proper implementation of security and peace in the upcoming election of 2025.

00:40Marvill is the 37th PNP and member of the Philippine Military Academy's Sambisig Class of 1991.

00:49He was nominated for the highest position in the Philippine National Police on April 1, 2024.
