00:00The Department of Trade and Industry will strengthen the monitoring of rice prices

00:04in the markets as 55 pesos per kilo of maximum suggested retail price for imported rice has

00:10taken effect. According to the DTI Assistant Secretary Agaton Overo, they will cooperate

00:15with the Department of Agriculture and the local governments for their price watch.

00:19It intends to ensure that all rice vendors are following the MSRP for imported rice.

00:24The DTI expressed their positivity from lowering the rice prices

00:28since the NFA also released their buffer stocks.
