00:19Uh, and then they proposed him and the browns beat writer can accept one or I guess he could reject them all

00:25he writes

00:26Chicago offers tempting because the browns could immediately show their fans an ownership group

00:31A rebuild that includes four of the first 41 picks this year plus a first rounder next year

00:37That offer is simply a lot better than many of the others

00:40So again, that's chicago's pick at 10 their second round pick on their first rounder next year

00:44That would give them for the first 41 41 picks this year and two first rounders next year

00:49yeah, that's

00:51That would be attractive and you like that trade from a browns perspective

00:55Uh regarding the detroit trade the hooker edition makes detroit's deal intriguing but a backup quarterback isn't going to be enough here

01:01New england could probably have added joe milton and another player to get into the bidding

01:05New england had a proposal that didn't wasn't a finalist

01:08uh buffalo and detroit's offer was

01:12a first

01:14And a third this year and a first next year and hendon hooker for garrett and a fourth next year

01:20Uh buffalo, this was my favorite proposal if I were

01:24cleveland, I think uh a first this year a second this year a fourth this year a first next year

01:32defensive end aj eponessa and cornerback

01:37For garrett a third this year and a sixth next year

01:40Nice offer by buffalo including rousseau forget about the amari amari cooper swap and call us back tomorrow

01:48Uh for the chargers deal if you missed the chargers deal earlier

01:53The problem I have with that buffalo deal

01:56For cleveland's sake. Yeah, is it those draft pick the first round picks?

02:00It's great to get multiple first round picks, but it'd be the same thing the lions are going to give you

02:03It's a late first round pick

02:06It's really hard to to get jazzed about that, but they did throw in players. Yep

02:11But it's just not as as enticing as other teams that draft higher. So

02:16Yeah, I like the players and that's why I do it

02:19I like having some known commodities along with the draft picks which are the unknown commodities, but

02:24Uh next up the chargers deal, which was a first and a third this year in joey bosa

02:29He writes as for the chargers. I can't see the browns bringing and being in the joey bosa business right now

02:36Then he writes I think washington's offer is the best given that cleveland also needs youth across the offensive line

02:41Washington would be betting that a 2026 first rounder would again be a late pick

02:45But I think the browns certainly would want a 2026 first round selection

02:50The commanders might get it done if they'd also throw in a late 2026 pick

02:54And take cornerback greg newsom the second and is fully guaranteed 13 million dollar 2025 fifth year option off the browns hands

03:02So he likes the washington offer the most

03:13We can sit here and put together deals that we think make sense

03:19What only thing that gets this done is being the best offer that they get

03:26If somebody else is willing to go further you're either a out or b have to add

03:34The detroit picks of two firsts a third and hendon hooker

03:39Are such a thousand percent yes for me

03:42From a detroit perspective. I can't imagine that would be the best offer that they would get

03:48I would I would have to think if again if we're doing radio in cleveland i'd be like this is the best offer

03:55Here is I mean and this is the a sort of unknown factor in this with with that offer for cleveland

04:02Detroit is the only team that we've mentioned there that's offering up a quarterback

04:07now

04:09And hendon hooker hasn't really played much as we know but he does have a huge upside

04:14The player he was in college prior to getting hurt

04:18Was going to win the heisman trophy until he got hurt

04:22He was awfully good

04:24he's played very sparingly in his first couple years in the league because of recovering from that injury and then this year just because

04:30Fortunately knocking on wood that jared goff has been healthy for the lions that you don't need to

04:36to use a backup quarterback

04:39It's but it's an unknown commodity because you haven't seen him you don't really know what he is

04:43It's just a thought of how high his ceiling is and if you're cleveland, you need a quarterback

04:49You're stuck right now for at least another year

04:52with

04:54With a horrible situation

04:56at quarterback

04:57And you're john watson's contract which is I think a 72 million dollar cap hit each of the next two years

05:02Now you could draft one with the second overall pick that you have

05:07But

05:08I mean i'm not in love with cam ward. I'm not in love with chador sanders and i'm not in love with jackson dart

05:14I think they're all good quarterbacks, but none of them scream to me like oh this guy is can't miss

05:19And not that hendon hooker does either

05:22But what hendon hooker would offer you if i'm trying to sweeten this for detroit's side

05:27What he offers cleveland is that okay? He's completely healthy now

05:31He's got a couple years under his belt of sitting on the sidelines watching a team work with

05:37And it's a team that has the best offense in football

05:41That you might feel better about that and I don't have to use a second pick overall on a quarterback. I can use that

05:47On either abdul carter if he's there to replace miles garrett

05:51Or I go out and take you know, travis hunter

05:55Who's a two-way player could be a great receiver or the best cover corner in in college football here?

06:01I can use one of those

06:03And really kind of set myself forward

06:06Yeah to me

06:08Personally if i'm in cleveland shoes hendon hooker to me is not a commodity

06:13He's a throw-in

06:15he's not a player that I would have much of it i'd be like

06:19At the end i'd be like also see if you can get hendon hooker. I wouldn't be building a you have him as a

06:26A real piece. I was think I was getting back. Well, that's also the unknown

06:29You don't know what another organization thinks you don't know how highly they regarded that player

06:35They may they may say the same thing you're saying or they may be more on where i'm at where I think he's got

06:40I think he still has huge upside, but

06:42He's getting blocked here in detroit because detroit's got a great. Yeah

06:45I I look at a player who's 27 years old and has barely played and i'm not sure that I can even

06:51I would have to have loved him out of college, but even then

06:55Davin is sitting on the bench with very little evidence of what he can do in the nfl personally

07:00I wouldn't I wouldn't have that much interest other than

07:04To throw him in at the end kind of kind of deal

07:07Is he intriguing?

07:10But given what they're going to want to do

07:13I think they're going to draft a quarterback this year or next year

07:15I think they're going to be like the lions were when they traded for the two picks

07:19uh for matthew stafford is originally the thought was we're going to get a

07:24quarterback with one of these two picks

07:26I think the likelihood of hendon hooker being able to answer the bell at quarterback the way jared golf did are very very slim but

07:33Maybe maybe they love him, right? Um

07:36So the funny thing is as I looked at the feedback that came in

07:40there was a lot of

07:43Of you've got to get miles garrett if he's available you have to get him

07:47And I would say if he's available you have to call

07:51I would go that far

07:52I wouldn't say if he's available. You have to get him

07:55I want to take you back into the wayback machine to the trade deadline this year. No the way back. Yes

08:00So we're going to go all the way back like two two and a half months here

08:34Can we all agree it's okay to walk away it's okay to walk away

08:41You're allowed to walk away

08:44And I think we'd all have different sliding scale as to when you would walk away

08:53Yeah, there's plenty of examples of walk away

08:56Trade proposals and that's why

08:58I could never say some of the feedback we saw yesterday

09:02I mean there were some people fully committed to making this happen. No matter what the cost and i'm in the um

09:07It's okay to say no

09:10I go back to something we said yesterday

09:14They came they went 15 and 2 with half a defense

09:18In theory they're going to be getting all those guys back others will get hurt

09:22They probably are going to have more luck next year with injuries

09:26They already went 15 and 2 were the one seed and a strong super bowl contender without miles garrett

09:34They not just they will be better

09:37Just by standing pat they'll be better

09:40let alone

09:42What they could do with a little bit of cap space

09:45and their draft capital

09:47Which is why again?

09:49I don't know that if i'm detroit I call I ask

09:54But if some of these offers come in

09:56This becomes that that make you have to really really dig deep. I i'm okay with walking away. Well
