01:57His ups and downs continue to be extreme.

02:03And we mentioned this yesterday on the show, and it's because when someone that you really

02:08believe in, Dan Campbell, comes out and says something that you're like, eyes are seeing

02:13something different.

02:14He says that Nate Sudfeld has the leg up on the backup quarterback position.

02:23And yet when we watch the games, like, really?

02:26Does he really have the leg up on the backup quarterback position?

02:31However, Hendon Hooker put the football on the ground three times yesterday in scrimmages.

02:36We saw it once where he ran in the fullback.

02:38It might have been the fullback's fault, could have been.

02:42But if you're looking for reasons why they wouldn't be ready to give the backup job to

02:46Hendon Hooker, that might explain it.

02:48Well, and again, this is his first training camp.

02:54He hasn't taken snaps until now.

02:58Like literally, it's all of this training camp and a little bit of a mini camp.

03:05So there's going to be a little bit of an adjustment period for him to get all this

03:10stuff down.

03:11And we're not MFing him.

03:12Not at all.

03:13We're not looking for an explanation why something that seems nonsensical to the rest of us still

03:18might be the case.

03:20Now when the regular season starts, you don't have to proclaim who the number two guy is

03:24until you need a number two guy and you'll know who the coaching staff will know.

03:28But when regular season starts, the number of reps that you get as a backup quarterback

03:36dwindles significantly, as they should.

03:39And one way to get a bunch of snaps and get comfortable with taking a snap from center

03:44or taking the shotgun snap is to run the scout team.

03:49And whether you're number two or number three quarterback, who cares?

03:51Get the reps any way that you can get them.

03:54Be impressive either way.

03:56I'm not worried about Hendon Hooker.

03:57I think he's got the talent and he'll eventually be the backup to Jared Goff.

04:03But hopefully, not going to want, you don't have to worry about it anyway.

04:08It's just Goff's going to play regardless.
