JPMorgan’s own data shows some offices aren’t ready for a RTO mandate

JPMorgan Chase plans to carry through with its five-day RTO mandate, even though the bank is still wrestling with where to put all of its employees.

00:00J.P. Morgan Chase is still following through on its plans for a return-to-office mandate,

00:04and many workers aren't happy.

00:06More than 300,000 workers are expected to be in office five days a week starting as

00:11early as March, despite the company still figuring out where to put them all.

00:14J.P. Morgan is also opening up a new global headquarters in New York City designed to

00:19accommodate 14,000 employees.

00:21The bank's internal look-up tool shows the approximate time that worksites will be ready

00:25for the staff to use, but some buildings are listed as not yet determined and others have

00:29different return dates.

00:30One employee told Fortune that implies they do not yet have a strategy to accommodate

00:34everyone.

00:35Another employee said the mandate lacks empathy for workers who needed the flexibility.

00:39The full-time RTO mandate adds on to many employees' frustrations after receiving

00:43low pay bumps and bonuses, even with the company's record-breaking revenues in 2024.
