00:00The Indochina region covers the ASEAN member nations and has vast potential for economic growth.

00:06But there are also many challenges born out of geopolitical tensions,

00:10cybersecurity perils, terrorism and even trade wars as a result of supersized tariffs.

00:16But with the shared values and a commitment to protect and watch each other's backs,

00:21the countries in the Indochina have better prospects to survive these challenges,

00:26as laid out by House Speaker Martin Romualdez in today's Parliamentary Intelligence Security Forum.

00:34Stronger regional cooperation, economic resilience and responsible technology governance in the

00:40Indo-Pacific region. These are what House Speaker Martin Romualdez is calling for

00:45at the Parliamentary Intelligence Security Forum, a global platform for legislators and

00:50security experts to discuss intelligence sharing, counter-terrorism, cybersecurity

00:56and other emerging security challenges. According to Romualdez, a unified and collective response

01:02from different nations is necessary to address geopolitical tensions, economic vulnerabilities

01:08and technological disruptions in today's society. He stated, this gathering is a significant

01:13opportunity to develop new mechanisms and strategies to tackle these challenges.

01:19The Indo-Pacific's challenges are immense, but so are its opportunities. Our region's

01:26diversity is its greatest strength and through dialogue, cooperation and decisive action,

01:33we can navigate these complex realities together. As parliamentarians, we have a unique role in

01:42shaping policies that promote security, prosperity and resilience. Let us use this

01:50forum to share best practices, deepen partnerships and advocate for forward-looking solutions

01:58grounded in shared values. Other lawmakers also presented reports during the gathering to

02:04highlight the Philippines' position on several hot issues, including the dispute in the West

02:09Philippine Sea. The forum is scheduled until February 4, with many other issues expected to
