00:00Our newest Hand and Footprint honoree, Ki-Hee Kwon!
00:07I want to first say, I love Los Angeles. It's been my home most of my life, so I just want
00:36to say thank you so much to the first responders and all the incredible firemen for their incredible
00:44work. Hi, everyone. Thank you so much for coming out. Thanks to my friend Jonathan Wong
00:57over there. I'm a little nervous. In fact, I'm very nervous. When I told him that I was
01:06receiving this honor, he said congratulations and quickly pointed out that now the whole
01:12world is going to know how small my hands and feet are. The first time I witnessed this
01:21ceremony was in 1984 when Steven Spielberg and George Lucas were honored. I was only
01:3013 then, and I remember thinking how cool they are. If the Chinese theater wanted them
01:37to leave their mark in this historic place forever, how impactful their work is to be
01:43honored with something so permanent. I also remember fantasizing about maybe, just maybe,
01:53one day I'd be asked to do the same. Of course, it was such a wild dream. And over the years,
02:02I would realize how naive that dream was. To me, the Chinese theater is the best theater
02:09in all of Los Angeles to watch a movie. And I come here many times to do just that. And
02:18every time I'm here, I would stand over Steven and George's cement block and take a brief
02:24trip down memory lane. And in the beginning, the early years, I was still an actor. But
02:34as the years passed, I would walk by and be reminded how that once hopeful actor turned
02:52into just another movie goer. And now here we are, more than 40 years later, and not
03:00only am I acting again, but that crazy dream actually came true. Dreams are weird, aren't
03:17they? They have a way of planting themselves quietly and surviving on hope, even when reality
03:23tries to uproot them. And then one day, they bloom in ways we never expected. So thank
03:32you so much to the TCL Chinese Theater for this incredible honor and for this surreal
03:38full circle moment. This means so much to me. I certainly would not be here without
03:44all the incredible filmmakers that I had the good fortune of working with. Thank you, of
03:49course, to Steven Spielberg, for whom I wouldn't even be an actor if it weren't for him. To
03:56Chris Columbus. Oh my gosh. The Goonies, to this day, is still one of the greatest adventures
04:04of my life. And it wouldn't be an adventure without you and all my fellow Goonies. Josh,
04:11Corey, Jeff, Carrie, Martha, and Sean. So thank you guys. And to the Daniels. What can
04:30I say? Thank you so much for bringing me back. And I will be remiss not to shout out
04:45Sarah Finn for being such a huge supporter of me, casting me not only in one, but three
04:52incredible projects. Thank you. And now that brings me to my current movie, which I'm so
04:58excited to premiere tonight. Kelly McCormick, David Leitch, Guy Dinella, JoJo, Ariana,
05:12Michonne, Daniel, Leo, Mustafa, Andre, and Universal Studios. Thank you so much for
05:27allowing me to play my first ever leading action role in Love Hurts. And finally, thank
05:34you to my family, who have always shown me what it means to never give up. This moment
05:52isn't just about leaving my mark in cement. It's about honoring the people who have always
05:59believed in me, when I couldn't always believe in myself. Thank you. And once again, thank you
06:04to TCL Chinese Theatre for this incredible honor. Thank you, everybody. Thank you. Thank you.
