Spurs confidence building after strong win at Brentford

A tough place to go and Spurs didn't disappoint.

00:00So James, looking at Spurs and their recent results in the Premier League,

00:03they've turned things around.

00:04Their first sort of win since December as well.

00:07It was a torrid month, really, for them in terms of the league form in January.

00:11They ended the month, obviously, on quite a high.

00:13We'll start in February, of course, away at Brentford.

00:17A very, very tough place to go this season, especially as well.

00:20I mean, it was a scrappy game, but they made sure they got over the line.

00:24What does this sort of do for Spurs' confidence?

00:28Obviously, we've been discussing how they've been slightly looking over their shoulder

00:31at the relegation zone.

00:32Maybe that's going to be put to bed in the next couple of weeks.

00:36But this is huge for them ahead of, obviously, a big week,

00:38which we'll get into a huge week ahead for them.

00:41But just on the Brentford game, what were your thoughts coming away from that?

00:45As I mentioned, a very, very tough place to go and get a result for any team this season so far.

00:52Yes, it was a massive win.

00:53We absolutely needed it.

00:55However it came, we just needed to get over the line on the Brentford match

00:59and get three points in the bag.

01:01We were worthy winners.

01:05It was a really dogged performance, a different type of performance from Spurs.

01:09It's not a performance you often see.

01:11I think we cleared sort of 34 crosses that came into the box against them.

01:17We were excellent, really, really resolute.

01:21Showed a lot of character, a lot of spirit, a lot of fight there.

01:23We had some tired legs after playing, again, 48 hours previously on the Thursday night.

01:29And we had a little bit of quality to finish the game off when it mattered.

01:33I mean, the final goal was a really, really slick team move.

01:36Nice breakaway on the transition.

01:39And I think every player touched the ball by Jed Spence.

01:41And really, really good run from Sar, great little ball in from Son.

01:45And that really settled the nerves at the end.

01:46And I think you could see what it meant to the players come the final whistle,

01:50the sort of huddle.

01:52And Son rallying the troops as well.

01:54I mean, it just looked like it might be something that helps us turn a corner.

01:58Obviously, it sets us up massively for a huge cup competition as we'll come on to.

02:02But, you know, overall, that gives us a little bit of breathing space as well,

02:07away from the relegation place as it takes us 10 points clear.

02:10Goal difference as well gives us that swing of probably another point.

02:14So it has us looking up instead of looking over our shoulder.

02:17And, you know, why did we need it?
