00:00More than 13% of the Commission on Elections is done with printing balotas.

00:06This is just the beginning of their printing last week.

00:11And in spite of that fast process,

00:14they will do a thorough manual verification.

00:20Luisa Erispe is in the center of the news.

00:24It's only been a week since the Commission on Elections started printing balotas again.

00:30The Commission has already reached the sum of millions.

00:34According to Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia,

00:37this means that Comelec is already done with 13.12% of the balotas.

00:43And they need to finish more than 62 million from more than 72 million balotas.

00:49But Comelec said that their target is still April 14.

00:55The manual verification of the balotas is slow,

00:59so it will take a long time if they need to be printed again.

01:04This is just the right time to split the elections for Fernalia

01:09before the same day of voting on May 12.

01:12Aside from printing balotas,

01:14Comelec is also preparing for the possibility of a law

01:19that prohibits the distribution of sample ballots on the same day of the election.

01:25Garcia is determined that this will still be part of a candidate's campaign.

01:30Sample ballots is campaigning.

01:32It's not prohibited to campaign one day before the election.

01:36If you give sample ballots, that's campaigning.

01:41Comelec's advice to voters is that they should bring their own code

01:46so that it will be easier to vote in the precincts.

01:50Meanwhile, Comelec plans to have polling precincts in malls and gymnasiums

01:56instead of schools.

01:58Garcia explained that this is in line with those who are complaining

02:01that it's hot and cramped in the classrooms.

02:04As I said, we will look for other venues other than schools

02:08where the classrooms can be moved because the classrooms are small.

02:12At any given time, only 10 people can vote.

02:16Garcia explained that they will talk about this with the Department of Education

02:21because they want to limit the problem of classrooms being damaged every election.
