00:17Pedro Taduran confirmed that the title rematch will take place
00:21against Japanese fighter and former IBF Strawweight Champion,
00:25Hinjiro Shigeyoka on May 24 in Osaka, Japan.
00:30Taduran first captured the IBF title in 2019 via 4th round stoppage
00:35against Samuel Salva before it was taken by Renee Marquarto in 2022.
00:41In 2023, Shigeyoka grabbed the contested IBF title
00:45before it was reclaimed by Taduran in their first match last July
00:49through a 9th round stoppage.
00:51During the Philippine Sports Writers Association Awards night,
00:55Pedro shared that he will face a big challenge to defend his title against Shigeyoka.
01:09Despite this, the Filipino boxer is still confident about the upcoming fight
01:13as he already studied Shigeyoka based on their first encounter last July.
01:22Taduran is currently back in training with the aim of defending his IBF title
01:27and maintaining an impressive record of 17 wins and 4 losses
01:32with 13 of those wins coming by knockout.
