00:00The Philippine economy grew by 5.6% in 2024, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority.

00:08Aside from that, the country also rose in the highest growth in the economy in Asia.

00:15Christian Vascones of PTV with the news for the country.

00:21The country's economy will continue to be strong at the end of 2024.

00:27According to the statistics released by the Philippine Statistics Authority this morning,

00:32although it is lower than the GDP of 2023, which was 5.5%,

00:40the GDP of 2024 is still stable at the 3rd and 4th quarter, which was 5.2%.

00:47Throughout the year, the country had a GDP growth rate of 5.6%.

00:52The wholesale and retail trade, motor vehicles and motorcycles repair, which was 5.5%,

01:028.5% came from financial and insurance, and 7.8% came from construction and infrastructure.

01:14In the 3rd quarter of last year, there were changes in the GDP in the education sector,

01:19which rose from 2.6% to 4.1%, from 2.8% to 3.0%,

01:27for manufacturing, 9.1% to 8.8% for financial and insurance activities.

01:35Gross National Income or GNI remained at 6.8% in the 3rd quarter of 2024.

01:42Because of the many solidarities that the country is going through in 2024,

01:46such as quality, the economy of the country is slowly declining.

01:51According to Policy and Planning Undersecretary of the National Economic and Development Authority or Rosemarie G. Edilion,

01:57the government is focused on improving the economy this year through stronger trade and export.
