00:00The Department of Transportation, DOTR, has approved the privatization of Manila International Airport

00:07as their biggest project in the past year.

00:11In an interview with DOTR Secretary Jaime Bautista of Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon,

00:16the privatization is a means of increasing the number of passengers who have congestion.

00:23From the 35 million capacity of the airport,

00:2750 million were handled in 2024,

00:32where this is the highest level of MIA,

00:39according to their report in January 1.

00:42We have accomplished a lot in 2024.

00:46One of the biggest projects that the Department of Transportation has accomplished

00:51is the privatization of Manila International Airport.

00:56Because it has a capacity of 35 million,

01:00we are handling 50 million,

01:03we are having a congestion problem.

01:06We know that this has been happening for the last many years.

01:11That is why the Department of Transportation forced us to privatize it.
