00:00The Tourism Department proudly announced the all-time high revenue

00:05or Philippine income in the tourism sector of 2024

00:10which reached more than Php 760 billion.

00:13According to the DOT,

00:15not only did the tourism sector rise, but it also increased and expanded.

00:20This is Rod Lagusan of PTV with the national news.

00:24The tourism sector remains an important part of the country's economy.

00:30The country recorded the highest tourism revenue or Philippine income in 2024.

00:36According to the DOT, Php 760.50 billion was the Philippine income in 2024.

00:44This is 9.0% higher than Php 697.46 billion in 2023.

00:52The increase is equivalent to a 126.75% recovery rate in local tourism.

00:58According to Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco,

01:00this is proven that aside from the recovery of tourism in the country,

01:03it continues to expand and contributes to the economy.

01:07Frasco also gave more data that it can provide jobs to Filipinos.

01:12Tourism helped to provide livelihoods and opportunities,

01:16especially in rural areas.
