Whitlam MP Stephen Jones announces retirement

Mr Jones, who is also the Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Financial Services, was first elected to was was then the seat of Throsby since 2010.

00:00So after 15 years I've made the really hard decision that I intend to pull up

00:04stumps as the member for Whitlam. It's been the honour of my life to represent

00:08you and this fantastic community but I've decided it's time for me to move

00:12on and do something else. Not an easy decision, not one I've taken lightly but

00:17I think it's the right thing for me and time for me to hand the baton on to

00:19somebody else. I want to thank all of you for you know the faith that you've

00:24placed in me over the last 15 years. I think together we've done some fantastic

00:28things and the region's better for it. Thanks so much.
