So Kirstie we're marking 15 years of four Lewis, for those who don't know can
00:04
you explain how the charity began? Of course I lost my son Lewis in December
00:10
2009. I was 38 weeks pregnant and sadly his heart stopped due to a placenta
00:17
abruption and he passed away and I had to go to hospital and deliver Lewis. Back
00:23
then it was such a taboo subject and there was very little in terms of memory
00:29
keeping and support available and we just kind of decided as a family that it
00:35
needed a change. And since then how many families have you helped over the course
00:40
of those 15 years? Over the last 15 years we've supplied quarter of a million
00:45
memory boxes right across the UK including Northern Ireland and Wales and
00:51
Scotland and if you use the power of six, so mum, dad, grandparents, siblings, it's
00:59
the equivalent of filling Wembley Stadium 16 and a half times. And these
01:04
boxes really do help people see their hardest of times? They do yes, it's
01:10
something tangible for them to walk out of hospital with, it lets them know that
01:15
they're not alone, their child mattered, we're thinking of them and they've been
01:20
described as a cuddle at the worst time. And you still have great
01:24
relationships with families that you've dealt with over the years, haven't you
01:27
been invited to weddings and christenings? We have yes, it's always great to see
01:32
families want to have their rainbow baby and to receive that invite to watch them
01:37
get married and mark special occasions in their lives as well.
