The Dice Box board game cafe in Grove Road, Eastbourne, East Sussex

00:00So, we're a board game cafe and we've got a selection of 500 board games.

00:08Come in, take a seat.

00:10We can recommend you all different types of board games.

00:12If you've never played games before, we can find you something easy to play.

00:15If you're an experienced board gamer, we can find you something that maybe you haven't

00:19tried before.

00:20And aside from that, it's quite similar to a normal cafe.

00:23So for food, we do all sorts of things.

00:25We do a 3 for 10 deal where you can get like pretzels, truffle and parmesan fries, burgers,

00:31pizzas, flatbreads, hot dogs.

00:34With drinks, we do like milkshakes and smoothies.

00:37We're really proud of our coffee and our hot chocolates are really tasty.

00:40And we've got a load of herbal teas as well.

00:42I found this franchise because I was doing a job I didn't love.

00:46I thought I should do something that I love.

00:48I love board games.

00:49And I found the Dice Box, immediately knew it was what I wanted to do.

00:54There's four others. I'm the fifth one.

00:55So there's one in Lemton Spa, Peace Bar, Worcester and Sopport.

01:01And so I'm the fifth one.

01:03All games are great. They're tactile.

01:05You use your hands.

01:06You can get off the screen for a little while, give your brain a break.

01:10But you're also developing sort of your strategy skills, tactics.

01:14It's a great social thing.

01:15We've got games that are super easy to learn and just great to play with friends.

01:19And for your little ones as well.

01:21It's a great way to teach them social skills, how to lose at things.

01:25And it's just good to get them off screens, something you can all do together.

01:29And it's just a nice little day out for everyone, I think.

01:32So in the future, and hopefully the near future,

01:35we're going to start doing social gaming nights

01:37where you can come by yourself or as a couple

01:39and we'll pair you with other people to play games.

01:42And we'll start a heavy Thursday where we can take people

01:44through some of the more complicated games and help with that.

01:48So, yeah, there is stuff definitely coming up.

01:50So we're open Tuesday to Saturday, 11am to 11pm, last entry being 9pm.

01:56And then Sunday we're open 11am to 8pm with last entry at 6pm.
