00:00Another day, another burnt out car.
00:05Police believe this Ford Ranger was involved in the murder of Sam the Punisher Abdul-Rahim.
00:11They're still pleading for answers.
00:13I implore the family of Sam, his friends and associates to work with Victoria Police.
00:19If they are aware of information, they need to share it with us.
00:23Sam Abdul-Rahim was fatally shot around 10.30 yesterday morning in the underground car park
00:28of the Quest Apartments on High Street in Preston.
00:32A white Porsche, believed to be linked to the crime, was driven to nearby Reservoir,
00:37where it was dumped and burnt out.
00:39The gunman then jumped into a grey Ford Ranger, which was driven to West Meadows, right next
00:45to Melbourne Airport.
00:46It too was dumped and burnt.
00:48If they have seen this grey Ford Ranger, it has a canopy on the back and it's got the
00:53bullhorn on the rear window.
00:56Sources the ABC has spoken to believe tobacco kingpin Kazem Kaz Hamad, Sam's long-time enemy,
01:04wanted him dead.
01:05It's believed he blamed Abdul-Rahim for orchestrating the fatal hit on his close friend and crime
01:11figure Qadir Oz in an Officeworks car park in Campbell Field in 2016.
01:17Abdul-Rahim has been one of several semi-celebrity criminals that have been involved in illicit
01:23tobacco trade.
01:25He's got many enemies.
01:26It just shows how strong these groups are getting through the illicit tobacco trade.
01:32One of Abdul-Rahim's friends has told the ABC that Sam had only arrived back in Melbourne
01:37on Monday to visit his family and his daughter.
01:41He said the only way his location could have been known is if he was noticed on the roads
01:46by the wrong person or if he was traded in by someone close to him.
01:51He said he was usually secretive about his location but he could be careless about his
01:56movements.
01:57He knew his days were numbered.
