00:00This year, the long-awaited direct flight between India and the Philippines is expected to start.

00:08According to the Indian Ambassador to the Philippines, Sri Harsh Kumar Jain,

00:13this is part of the strengthening of the people-to-people contracts between the two countries.

00:19This is also in line with the low Chinese tourist arrivals in the Philippines, which has affected the country's economy.

00:26In the past, the Philippines launched the e-Visa system for the Indian nationals,

00:32and the target is to launch an action plan for the Indian-Philippine tourism.

00:39According to Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco,

00:42they are also promoting not only the direct flight to Manila, but also the direct flight to other destinations including Cebu and Clark.
