The government of Colombia, under the administration of President Gustavo Petro, has presented a plan known as the "Marshall Plan" to combat crime in the Catatumbo region of Norte de Santander. teleSUR

00:04abandon illicit economies during a Cabinet meeting in the northeast of the nation.

00:10The executive held an encounter in Ocaña, in the northern department of Santander, where

00:15the head of state proposed a regional deal to the community affected by the violent escalation

00:19in Catatumbo, and presented the exceptional powers of the state of commotion decreed by

00:23the presidency, which will be analyzed on Tuesday by the legislature.

00:27On the meeting, the president proposed a Marshall Plan to contribute to change and

00:32combat criminality in the region.

00:34In addition, social leaders who participated at the meeting reaffirmed their commitment

00:37to peace, in spite of the risks to their lives.
