So what's included in the Police and Crime Plan is we have three strategic priorities,
00:06
so it's Local Neighbourhood Police and Presence, supporting victims, communities and businesses
00:13
and a fair and effective criminal justice system. So that Local Neighbourhood Police and Presence
00:17
about improving visibility because we'd all like to see that traditional bobby on the beat.
00:23
When you look at the work that's gone on in Buckley that I visited just a couple of
00:29
weeks ago, they have the Operation Restore, which has seen a significant increase in the
00:36
number of foot patrols patrolling the shopping precinct in Buckley and the surrounding area,
00:43
and that's seen a great reduction in the number of anti-social behaviour activity taking place.
00:49
So when we look at Rail and the great work that's gone on there with the Operation Renew,
00:55
that's part of the Clear Hope Build strategy. When we look at the efforts that have gone on there
01:02
and the positive impact it's having on the lovely community of Rail, it's becoming harder for
01:10
drug users to find drugs. They need that support as well and I also know there's been a lot of
01:20
work going on with the Salvation Army in that regard and things to try and develop a programme
01:27
with an organisation called Kaleidoscope as well. So it's about sort of supporting
01:32
those who have that need and that addiction, they do need support and if you provide
01:39
the right appropriate level of support as well we will find that they will have an impact on
01:44
the type of criminality taking place. We're really fortunate in North Wales to have such a dedicated
01:50
rural crime team. In North Wales we're over 70% rural. Farms, as well as the work that they do
02:00
in farming their land and producing food for our communities, they're homes as well and I sometimes
02:07
feel that that gets missed on occasions. It's important for us to have that really strong relationship with them.
