Woodies, Wickham

Woodies, formally known as Greens, is undergoing a major refurbishment to create a hybrid tearoom and bistro.

00:00Hi there, can you introduce yourself and tell us where we are today?

00:04Yes, sure. I'm Nicola and we're here where Woody's will be, where Green's was in Wickham Square.

00:09Brilliant. Tell me a little bit about Woody's and what that's going to offer.

00:12Well, we're just opening as a Tea Rooms Bistro and basically just wanting to open up this beautiful building

00:18and just have it as a beautiful sort of meeting place really for people.

00:21And that's why we've got the element of Tea Rooms with Bistro as well.

00:25Brilliant. So had you been looking at this site for a little while?

00:28I mean, it's a beautiful site and I think anyone that, you know, you know this building because it's driving past

00:34or because it's such a beautiful picture of the square.

00:36So it was definitely something we had our eye on when we knew the lease was coming up with the previous owners.

00:42Brilliant. And tell me, I know you've just touched upon it, but what you'll be offering here in the future for Woody's?

00:52I mean, I think what we want to offer is a hub for sort of definitely families, mums,

00:58because we've got beautiful watermelons on the back of the garden and just sort of, like I said before,

01:04just a place to meet, have good food and enjoy yourself.

01:11So we're just basically really excited to be opening as Woody's in this beautiful building

01:16and just having it open for the public, hopefully by the end of March, mid to end of March, all being well.

01:23So yeah, mega excited to have Woody's as part of the community here and just to meet everybody when the doors are open.
