00:00The campaign of the authorities against illegal drugs in Cebu is also over.

00:04It is also followed by the arrest of the drug that is worth P170 million pesos.

00:16The 25 kilos of the drug that is worth P170 million pesos is not found in the port area of Cebu City.

00:27The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 7 discovered the illegal drug inside the vehicle that came from a ship.

00:35The contraband was seen with the help of their canine unit, Bayani, a Belgian Malinois.

00:42We were supposed to conduct inspection, random, on all of them.

00:46And then we noticed that the driver of this vehicle is trying to...

00:51He was about to leave the vehicle. He was about to leave.

00:55This prompted us to have doubts.

00:57So we stopped him, we opened the vehicle, we ran the canine sweeping.

01:02And then the canine detection dog, it was uneasy on that carton which was placed on the passenger side, on the back.

01:09When the dog was taken out, when we took out the carton, the dog sat on it.

01:15So that prompted us to open it because there was an indicator.

01:19The driver of the vehicle was arrested.

01:22They were also given their cellphones and IDs.

01:25According to the official information, the driver came from Manila and Masbate before he arrived in the port of Cebu City.

01:32It's important to know that this is not a discount that is intended for other neighboring areas.

01:43But considering that this is a discount, most probably, market-wise, we can see that this is usually for cities.

01:53There's a comment from PDEA.

01:54I don't think that this is intended for Cebu City.

01:57Our port is completely monitored, including Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

02:02A deeper investigation will be conducted by PDEA Region 7 along with other law enforcement agencies

02:09to determine who the supplier is and where the contraband will be brought from.

02:14They will also investigate all the cargoes and vehicles that will pass through the ports.
