00:00If you were fired up and disappointed by the idea of Schottenheimer being the head coach,
00:20I think you have a lifeline here, you know, maybe to somebody.
00:24And Brian, you're reporting that this is probably a split jury behind the scenes?
00:27Yeah, I think that Steven and Jerry Jr. are involved in this one,
00:32and they're trying to convince dad to hire Schottenheimer.
00:36And dad is having some resistance.
00:38Now, dad could step back and say, yes, you're right.
00:42They did this before.
00:43It sounds like when they did it with Mike McCarthy, hiring a Mike McCarthy.
00:47So a little bit of some push from the sons about, hey, let's get Schottie going.
00:53He's going to help dad.
00:54This is the reasons why, dad.
00:55We've talked about this going forward, da, da, da, da, da.
00:59And Jerry is actually having some resentment about the potential hire.
01:03Yeah.
01:04And so Jerry's going to do what he needs to do to maybe hold things off.
01:09I don't know how long he can hold off his sons on this one.
01:13We'll see.
01:15But that seems to be the direction this thing has been taken.
01:20And I don't know how to exactly feel about that.
01:23I think it is a sign that maybe when Steven and Jerry Jr.
01:26take over with more autonomy or authority, I don't know exactly how to phrase that.
01:32But when Jerry's time as the GM is over, no matter what that looks like, I think that
01:37would suggest it'll be more about substance than about the sex appeal of a hiring.
01:43I think Jerry Jones is looking at the fan base and looking at the headlines right now
01:46and understands that many Cowboys fans feel the same way Wolchuk does about the potential
01:51of hiring Schottenheimer.
01:52Nothing to it.
01:54I would like Pete Carroll and Schottenheimer together because I think they would get through
02:01to the organization.
02:03We can't treat Dak Prescott like he's Patrick Mahomes.
02:05And even with Patrick Mahomes, he only threw for 178 yards in the division around.
02:10It's the running game.
02:12And whether that's Rico Dattle or whoever we come across, we need to put a great offensive
02:19line together if we want to get the most out of Dak Prescott.
02:23Another wide receiver and hoping he can get the job done with the mediocre offensive line
02:28play.
